LED Lights

LED lights are high-grade indoor and outdoor lighting lamps. They are made of LED which stands for ‘Light Emitting Diode’, a semiconductor device that converts electricity into light.

LED lighting system is the most energy efficient, the cleanest and most eco-friendly way of illumination. It is basically digital light with a multitude of amazing benefits.

LED light can be used in places where energy savings and high colour rendering indexes are needed.

BENEFITS

  1. Superior Savings

With LED lighting fittings you can save about 80% of your energy consumption and pay less on electricity bills. With the big structures like yours incurring an estimated bill of about 10 Million Naira on lighting fittings only, you can cut down your lighting electricity bills to about 2 Million Naira.

Because of the high brightness of these LED lighting fittings, in the installation of the fittings you use only 2/3rd of LED fittings in place of the conventional fittings. This means that for every 100 pieces of the conventional lights, you need only 67 pieces of LED lighting fittings.

  2. Energy Efficiency

LED lights is today’s most efficient way of illumination and lighting, with an estimated energy efficiency of 80%-90% when compared to traditional lighting and conventional light bulbs. This means that about 80% of the electrical energy is converted to light while about 20% is lost and converted into other forms of energy such as heat.

With traditional incandescent light bulbs which operate at 20% energy efficiency only, 80% of the electricity is lost as heat. This means if one uses traditional lighting and have an electricity bill of 100 naira then 80 naira of that money has been used to heat the room, not to light it! Using LED illumination with 80% efficiency, the electricity costs would be around 20 naira and one would have saved around 80 naira.

  3. Long Life

Long life time stands out as the number one benefit of LED lights. LED bulbs and diodes have an outstanding operational life time expectation of up to 50,000 hours or more. This is 5.5 years of continuous operation, or 11 years of 50% operation. If you leave on the LED light for 8h per day it would take around 6 years before you would have to replace the LED light.

  4. Ecologically Friendly

LED lights are free of toxic chemicals. Most conventional fluorescent lighting bulbs contain materials such as mercury that is dangerous for the environment. LED illumination produces little infrared light and close to no Ultra Violet emissions.

Because of this, LED lighting is highly suitable not only for goods and materials that are sensitive to heat due to the benefit of little radiated heat emissions, but also for illumination of Ultra Violet sensitive objects or materials such in museums, art galleries, archaeological sites etc. and for human health.

  5. Instant Lighting & Frequent Switching

LED lights brighten up immediately when powered on, which has great advantages for infrastructure projects such as parking lots, traffic and signal lights.

Also, LED lights can be switched off and on frequently and without affecting the LED’s lifetime or light emission. In contrast, traditional lighting may take several seconds to reach full brightness, and frequent on/off switching does drastically reduce operational life expectancy.

  6. Low-Voltage

A low-voltage power supply of about 60 volts is sufficient for LED illumination. This makes it easy to use LED lighting also in outdoor settings, by connecting an external solar-energy source, inverters, UPS and is a big advantage when it comes to using LED technology in remote or rural areas
